"Make your life like a rose that speaks forever
silently in the language of fragrance".
As you may know, I do a variety of readings....astrology, psychometry, dream interpretation, tarot, palmistry, etc. I do more karmic astrology (which assists people in understanding the patterns in their behaviors/life so they can make the most conscious choices) than predictive astrology. I believe we have free will, so the various tools used for prediction ....whether it be direct psychic impressions, astrology, tarot, etc. are merely a reflection of probabilities given the way we are currently expressing our energies. We can, however, change outcomes by redirecting our intentions. That being said, it appears to me that 2010 will usher in a decade of change.
The New Year came in with a bang, so to speak with a full lunar eclipse in Cancer and a Blue moon at that (the second full moon in the month). Eclipses are markers which heighten our awareness of patterns in our life and assist in facilitating change and integration. We are asked to change how we perceive things. Cancer is the feminine/intuitive side of our nature, the cosmic mother, our home and where we seek comfort. We need to look at our needs vis a vis the needs of our world and integrate self nurturing with self discipline. Can we trust our intuitive hunches and allow our gut feelings to guide us or are we solely focused upon how others perceive us, outer expectations, traditions/patriarchal thinking?
Mercury, the winged messenger of the gods, turned retrograde on December 26 and remains retrograde until Jan 15, 2010. There is a two week period prior to and after a retrograde when the impact of the retrograde motion is still felt. During mercury retrogrades, communication is often challenging...messages get lost, computers/phones/faxes break down; there are often mechanical mishaps/breakdowns. It is not a time to sign important documents or make major decisions, but rather a time to go inward, review and digest the prior months happenings. Travel can often be difficult or delayed (which I definitely experienced the day the retrograde became exact.....where the failed bombing in Detroit caused huge security line delays in my flight to Kauai).
These major configurations just as we entered 2010 set the tone for the major shifts in store for us in this new decade. The planets Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune have been conjunct in Aquarius since late May 2009 and are challenging us to grow. Jupiter was the god of the heavens and is associated with expansion, wealth and wisdom. Neptune, the God of the seas, is the foggiest of all the planets and it is often difficult to discern what is going on when Neptune is involved. He can indicate spiritual growth, but when dealing with matters on the physical plane ,frequently can indicate deception, illusion, deceit. Neptune rules the 12th house of the zodiac which is associated with Big Government, prisons, things we don't have control over. The economic bailout, in theory designed to assist banks in keeping people in their homes and stabilizing the economy is now starting to reveal an underbelly of greed and deception. How much of the bailout money actually prevented people from losing their homes and how much went to line the pockets of a few top executives? More revelations should be disclosed with as Stern teacher Saturn squares potent Pluto this year.
The very significant Saturn square Pluto aspect which began in Sept. Of 2009, will have three direct hits through October 2010. Saturn, the lord of karma, rules structures, governments, land, real estate while Pluto was the lord of the underworld. Pluto is much like the Hindu God Shiva....both the creator and the destroyer. He forces us to look at our shadow side and is impervious to our pleas for mercy in meting out his judgements. Pluto can involve power struggles, digging up our subconcious fears and motivations, that which has been hidden and when in the challenging aspect to Saturn, can affect the world's economies and governments, Much like the phoenix, Pluto often demands that the old be consumed in ashes so that new growth can occur. We are likely to face many changes in the coming months. There may be further economic challenges and revelations. If we are willing to face the truth and change, real growth may occur. We must face our own inner fears/shadow and also demand transparency from our leaders/government.
I drew two cards to signify issues we should be aware of in the coming year:
"1. Positive Changes (Paravati) - Your likes and dislikes have changed, and you've outgrown situations that once appealed to you. These are positive developments signaling your spiritual growth. Some of these situations are blessings in disguise, as they're pushing you to make necessary and positive changes. You may feel pushed beyond your comfort zone as multiple areas of your life shift and flux, yet the universe always stands ready to support you with whatever you ask for. Let go and enjoy this ride, because it truly is for the best.
2. Focus on Your Strengths (Apollo) - This card reminds you to focus upon your strenths and not upon any perceived weaknesses. Your strengths could include your loving heart, pure intentions, people skills, hobbies, or something that you excel in. Even if your talents still need polishing, these are strengths and assets. The more you bless and appreciate your strengths, the stronger they'll grow. If you focus upon so called weaknesses, they will grow. This card comes to you as a reminder of the importance of viewing yourself with compassion and love. Anytime you find yourself thinking or feeling poorly about yourself, focus upon your strengths instead." (From Doreen Virtue's Ascended Masters card deck.)
